So what can you expect from a Terry Hall DJ set?
First of all, let’s be clear about what not to expect. Don’t expect Terry Hall to play any Terry Hall records. On a BBC 6 Music interview with Matt Everitt in 2014 he likened the scenario to being invited round to Robert De Niro’s house, and then asking to watch Taxi Driver. Fair point.
What you will hear are some great tunes hand-picked by the man himself. From early reggae and ska to pop, funk, soul and even disco; Terry’s musical tastes are eclectic to say the least.
Attend one of his DJ sets and expect to hear the likes of David Bowie, Toots & The Maytals, The Las, The Jackson 5, Max Romeo, Althea & Donna, Talking Heads, and much more. He closed one set in Stoke-on-Trent with the Zorba’s Dance Greek anthem. And it was brilliant.
It’s all about fantastic music, but going to one of Terry Hall’s DJ sets is also a great opportunity for getting an autograph or photo with the man himself – something that’s proved a challenge at a Specials’ gig over the years.

DJ Soulboots will be playing before and in-between bands, and of course before the man himself, Terry Hall.
